Big news coming out from Wimbledon, Australian tennis superstar Nick Kyrgios decided to withdraw from Wimbledon because of a wrist injury.
“I’m really sad to say that I have to withdraw from Wimbledon this year. I tried my hardest to be ready after my surgery and to be able to step on the Wimbledon courts again,” Kyrgios wrote on Instagram. “During my comeback, I experienced some pain in my wrist during the week of Mallorca. As a precaution I had it scanned and it came back showing a torn ligament in my wrist. I tried everything to be able to play and I am disappointed to say that I just didn’t have enough time to manage it before Wimbledon.”
Nick Kyrgios is dealing with injuries since the beginning of the season. Kyrgios played just one match this season in Stuttgart and he lost.
In January 2023, Nick Kyrgios withdraw from Australian Open, and he miss big tournaments like Indian Wells and Miami Open.
After that, Nick Kyrgios miss the whole clay-court season, including Madrid Open, Rome, and Rome Masters. Everyone is hoping that Nick Kyrgios will play in French Open, but, that did not happen, because he decided to withdraw from the tournament at the last moment.
One of the reasons he decided to withdraw from the French Open is because he wants to fully prepare for Wimbledon.
Nick Kyrgios came to London for Wimbledon, and he looks completely fit. But, once again at the last moment, Nick Kyrgios withdraws from Wimbledon.
“I’ll be back,” Kyrgios wrote. “And as always, I appreciate the support from all my fans.”

Last year at Wimbledon, Nick Kyrgios played well and surprise everyone after reaching the final. Before reaching his first Grand Slam final at Wimbledon last year, Nick Kyrgios defeated 5 opponents, and he received a walkover from Spanish superstar Rafael Nadal to reach the final.
In the Final, He played against Novak Djokovic and lost the match 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, 7-6 in three hours.
